Why bone marrow transplant are not a problem for patients with SCID

Dear student.

SCID (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease) is a group of disorders that results in the failure of immune system to produce functional T cells and B cells. These cells are important for rejection of organs. Hence, bone marrow transplant does not cause any severe problem in patients with SCID. It can be treated with bone marrow transplant in early stages of infant life.
