why cant penguin run fast

Penguins can neither fly nor can run fast. This is so because they have very short legs​ which are only helpful in short distance movements and not in running.

Since penguins cant run because of theyre short legs for a long time the fastest they can go s probaly 5 mph

 Some penguins, such as rockhoppers, hop from place to place. When there is too much snow or the penguins want to use less energy they drop down onto their chests and toboggan, by pushing their body forward with flippers and toes! When tobogganing, they can move quicker than a human!
