why cant transistor be used as rectifier..?

A rectifier converts AC to DC and also by two methods-

  1. Half wave
  2. Full wave

Rectifier works on the principle that it offers low resistance in forwarding biasing and high resistance in reverse biasing.

A transistor cannot provide variable resistance. So, it cannot be used as a rectifier.

because its resistance is thin and lightely doped.

Bcz a transistor cannot provide variable resistance.. So it cant be use as rectifier
