WHy CFL are now a day's being used instead of electric bulbs?

When an electric bulb produces light, it also gives heat that leads to the wastage of energy or electricity . So, to minimise this wastage CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Lamps) are used nowadays. These can be fixed in ordinary bulb holders.
