Why copper-T is called as a safe contraceptive?

Dear Student

Copper T is IUCD (Intra Uterine Contraceptive Device). It simply decreases the viability of sperms entering the female reproductive tract.   Release of these copper ions creates spermicidal environment that destroys the sperms thus preventing the fusion of sperm with the egg and hence prevents pregnancy. It is effective for long duration and that is why it is a good and safe contraceptive device to space children.
