why did br. ambedkar tell that right to remedies is the heart and soul of the nation?
According to the Indian Constitution we have a right to seek the enforcement of the fundamental rights and this is our right to constitutional remedies. When any of our rights are violated we can approach the courts for protection of our right. Due to this fundamental right we can directly approach the Supreme Court or the High Court of a state. The Supreme Court and High Courts have the power to issue directions, orders or writs for the enforcement of the Fundamental Rights. Now any person can go to court against the violation of the Fundamental Right, if it is of social or public interest. Courts also enforce the Fundamental Rights against private individuals and bodies.
Therefore, Dr. Ambedkar had rightly said that the Right to Constitutional Remedies, is ‘the heart and soul’ of our Constitution.
