why did mr otish offer to give the jewells back to the lord cantervilent ? what his reaction

u can write like this..

For Mr. ottis the jewels were too priceless and they belonged to high diginity of British aristocrazy. They looked out of place in the possession of those people who had been the product of republican simplicity. Above all, being the legal descendant of Sir Simon, the jewels were the property of Lord Canterville. Kepping these in mind, Mr ottis offered jewel back to lord Canterville.

his reaction:-

Lord canterville to substantiate his refusal in order to accept the jewels put forward some reasons. One, Virgina had been an angle to Sir Simon who become instrumental in helping him to embrance eternal peace and the forgiveness of the providence. two , Mr. ottis had brought the chase along with it's ghost. This made him the owner of everything connected with the mansion. So , he was the real owner of the jewels. Three, the jewels had been given to Virginia by the ghost himsefl so they belonged to her. Keeping thses in mind Lord Canterville refused to take those jewels
