Kashmir is repeatedly visited by Ali His poems
throw light on Kashmir's colonial history His poetry expresses
concern for the people of Kashmir due to the political and social
unrest The feeling of alienation and exile reoccur in his poetry
and explore the angst of the Kashmiris So he can be termed as a
national poet But, his poetry (in no way) is detrimental to the interests of other
nations That is why, he cannot be
called a nationalist poet
