Why did the narrotor go to meet Shastri what did shastri's predict about Ranga . Do you think Shastri said what he was told by narrator or he made his own astrological calculation.?
Dear student,
Shastri is the village fortune-teller and Shyama is the narrator of the story. Both of them connive together to make Ranga believe that the cause of his headaches are a girl. Shastri builds up the intrigue by suggesting the name of the girl is related to something found in the sea. Ranga is surprised to note that pearl, which is a precious jewel or "Ratna" is found in the sea bed. This convinces Ranga that the cure to his illness would be marriage with Ratna.
Regards
