Why did the other students make fun of wanda? Why did she lie about hundered dresses?

Dear Student,
Students in Wanda's school made fun of her poverty and typical Polish name. Wanda used to wear only one dress which was faded and looked old. The students surrounded Wanda to offend her and asked how many pairs of dresses she had in her closet. To their question Wanda replied that she had a hundred dresses of different colours, some velvet, and some silk. She had probably said this to get rid of the continuous bullies.
