the peddler have stolen the thirty kronor, that was the earning of the old croftman who gave him shalter in that cold night. while walking on highway road with that stolen money, was not considered safe by him so he decided to go into the forest.

the forest was dens nd was becoming colder with passasge of time. this was creating dificulty for the peddler to move forward.
