the poet leave the first road as he do not want to go to the same path where many people had gone as the first road has been used by many people and  he wnted to go some adventure and had taken the secound road which was less travelled upon by the people

Poet leave the first road because the theme of the poem is that one should accept the challenges in his life. Man should dare to walk on the untrodden path and take risk. Tough challenges have far reaching consequences. They can change a person's life
