Why did the rajas perform the ashwamedha Yajna?give two reasons.

Dear student in earlier times method of choosing a king was bit different. In order to become a king in earlier period a person have to make a lot of sacrifices so in order to show their supremacy used to adopt the ashvamedha yajna to other kings after being elected as a king. Regards
