Why Diwali is celebrated

Dear Student,

Diwali is the festival of lights. It is believed that on this day Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after spending 14 years in exile. During his exile, he fought against the demon king Ravana of Lanka and won. His victory is celebrated as the victory of good over evil. Diwali symbolizes the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance.
