WHY DO OUR PALM FEEL COLD IF WE PUT SOME ACETONE OR PERFUME ON IT.?????

Hi,

Acetone and perfume take up the heat energy from the palm to vaporize as it requires latent heat vaporisation to change from liquid state to vapour state. The hand loses heat and gets cooled. Thus the temperature of our palm is lowered which causes a cooling sensation. This is the example of cooling by evaporation.

Good effort everyone :) We appreciate your contribution to the forum. Enjoy learning and keep posting.

Cheers!!!

when we put acetone on our palm it absorbs heat from the palm due to latent heat of vapourisation.therefore it causes a cooling effect and we feel cold

as aceton has low boiling temperature when we put aceton on our palms it particles gain energy from our palm and evaporates qucikly wich causes cooling

hope it helps

When we put some acetone or petrol or perfume on our palm, it evaporates. During evaporation, particles of the liquid absorb energy from the surrounding or the surface of the palm, making the surroundings cool. Hence, our palm feels cold when we put some acetoneor petrol or perfume on it.

It is due to the process of evaporation actually. when the acetone on our palm evaporates and as liquids are good absorbers of heat hence our palm feels cool...

when v put acetone on r palm it takes heat frm r palm nd v feel cold

ya bcoz the acetone or perfume absorbs the heat frm our hand thus giving a cooling effect.

Hello, A very simple answer :-  When we put some acetone or perfume on our palm, the acetone or perfume gains energy from our body since it's temperature is less than our palm and due to the fact that energy travels from a warmer body to a cooler body. This taking of energy from our palm makes our palm feel cool
