Why do plates move because of molten lava

1.Tectonic plate moves due to the forces acting deep inside the earth like convection currents (movement of heat within the mantle) and gravity etc.
2.These forces acting inside the Earth brings the tectonic plates either towards each other (convergence of plates) or move away the tectonic plates from each other (divergence of plates).
