why do some plants feed on insects?

Some plants eat insects because they don't get enough of nitrogen from the soil and to regulate the amount of nitrogen they eat insects. These plants are called Insectivorus plants.

the plants which eat or trap insects or feed on insects are known as insectivorous plants... these insectivorous plants grow in bogs where the water is extremely acidic.. it is extremely difficult for many plants to extract all teh nutrients they need in environment.. the insect eaters developed a way to attract energy rich insects.. they somehow developed  a method of trapping , killing , and absorbing the insects through parts above water..

some plants ,eg. sundew and pitcher plant , feed on insects because the soil in which they grow is poor in nutrients and they have developed mechanisms to trap and eat insects for their need of nutrients.
