why do stars twinkle??

stars twinkle as the rays of the star pass through various layers of the atmosphere. So, the stars appears to us as if they are twinkling

Stars are the luminous bodies which produces it's own light. As we know stars are very far from the earth , and they are also luminous bodies. So as when a luminous body is kept very far away from our sight it are seem to be twinkling , in the same way the stars twinkle.

Actually stars do not twinkle. Stars are very far from the earth  and when they pass through different layers of atmosphere we find them twinkling.
