why do trees acquire more leaves during summer?

Because  the process of Photosynthesis is triggered by the sun. The sun is stronger in summer and the temperatures are warmer - the cells metabolisim is increased

 The process of evaporation of water from the leaves in the plant is called transpiration. This process of transpiration keeps the plants cool. During summer as the temperature is high, a plant should transpire more to keep itself cool. For more transpiration, plants acquire more leaves. Hence plants acquire more leaves during summer.

Trees aquire more leaves in Summer because temperature is uaually high in summer due to which to keep themselves cool they transpire more .Transpiration requires more leaves therefore , trees aquire more leaves in Summer
