Why do u think d poet has used d capital letter e in the earth?

The poet is personifying the word earth by using capital letter E because he wants us to understand that as much as we live on it, the earth is also a living organism in its own right. He writes that for once on the face of this 'Earth', one ought to stop for a second and take in the damage we are doing to it.
