why do we call the seeds of gymnosperms[spermatophytes] as naked?
Dear student,
The gymnosperms are a group of vascular plants whose seeds are not enclosed by a ripened ovary (fruit) and remain exposed, both before and after fertilisation. The seeds that develop post-fertilisation, are not covered i.e., are naked.
