Why do we say that a concave mirror has a real focus whereasa convex mirror has a virtual focus?

Concave mirror has a real focus because the rays of light actually meet after reflection at the surface of the mirror. But, in a case of a convex mirror, the rays of light do not actually meat but virtually appear to meet, so the focus is called a virtual focus.

Each has onefocal point(in short called as focus).Image formed byconvex mirroris always virtual. With concave mirror, you can have both real and virtual images. If the object is between the mirror and the mirror's focus, then the image is virtual. If the object is beyond the mirror's focus, then the image is real
