Why do we see different phases of the moon

The phases of moon occur because we can see only that part of moon which reflectsthe light of the Sun towards us.

Because it reflects the light and due to the changing position of moon and earth as they both rotate.

we see different phases of the moon becaus the suns light shines on it when earth half way covers it so only a bit of the moon shows when it is whole the sun is very near it so it covers the whole moon with its light but it is far enough for the part of earth that can see the moon to leave it dark
