 why do we wear woollen clothes in winter & cotton clothes in summer?

Cotton allows the sweat to evaporate.As we sweat profusely during summer cotton allows rapid evaporation the sweat evaporates using body heat ,hence leaving a cooling effect, thus it is advised to wear cotton clothes in summer. (Sorry ! Ridhi, i have no answer for that why should we wear woollen clothes in winter)

 in summer we wear cotton clothes because cotton clothes does not trap air inside it,but woolen clothes trap air inside them keeping us warm.

cotton clothes are not insulators of heat hence letting body heat escape. woollen clothes are good insulators of heat doesn't allow body heat to escape thus keeping us warm.

 There are many gaps present in wool, which traps the air inside. As air is a poor conductor of heat, wool does not allow the transfer of body heat to the environment. Hence, heat loss is very less through woollen clothes. Thus, woollen clothes are preferred in winters. On the other hand, in cotton fibres, large holes are present through which air can pass. This is why cotton remains cool in summers. Therefore, cotton clothes are preferred in summers.

In winter we wear wollen clothes because they have air pockets in between them. The air ( an insulator or bad conductor of heat ) does not allow the warmth of our body to escape out. Thus, keeping us warm. In summer we wear cotton clothes because it lets air to pass through it , so keeping us cool.

Light coloured clothes reflect most of the heat that falls on them, so we feel comfortable wearing them in summer.

Dark coloured colthes absorb more heat, so they will keep us warm in winters .
