why do you think some artists wanted to develope a national style of arts? plzzzz mam or sir this is urgent

Some of the artists knew how effectively art could be utilized for spreading nationalism, and hence wanted a national style to emerge. Breaking away from oil paintings and the realistic style which was followed, these artists turned turned to medieval Indian traditions
of miniature painting and the ancient art of mural painting for inspiration. They felt an urge to explore real life rather than illustrating ancient books, and looked for inspiration from living folk art and tribal designs and not just ancient art forms.

The 20th century's prints carried nationalist messages, with many of them showing Bharat Mata appearing as a goddess and carrying the national flag, or say, nationalist heroes sacrificing their head to the goddess, and the British being slaughtered by these gods and goddesses.
