Why does a summer rain storm lower the temperature?

The warm weather of summer creates an area of hot air which rises up with all the humidity and moisture content in it. The thunderstorm forms at the top portion of warm rising air. As air rises upwards it expands and cool down and then it stops rising when it matches the temperature of surrounding air. Cool air can't hold moisture as much as warm air. So moisture condenses into droplets of water and thus forming cloud. As these droplets merge with other they become heavy and fall as rain. Thus these droplets are very much cooler than ground level air during summer season and so when they fall on ground they cool the air.
