Why does distance between concentric shells increases as electric field decreases???

Dear student,

As the electric field can be expressed as the gradient of potential; thus it decreases with the distance from the charge, the distance between these concentric  shells (i.e. equipotential surfaces) increases with the decrease in electric field and vice versa

The Equpotential surface of an isolated charge are concentric spherical . Since the shells the electric field decrease with the distance from the charge the distance between the shell increase with the decrease in electric field and vice versa
