why does human body maintain constant temperature both in summerss and winters ?
Dear User!
The reply to your question is as follows:
Mammals (that includes humans) and Aves are warm-blooded creatures. They have the ability to keep the inside of their bodies at a constant temperature. They do this by generating their own heat when they are in a cooler environment, and by cooling themselves when they are in a hotter environment. This process is called thermoregulation or homeostasis.
In humans the temperature is maintained by the thermoregulatory center in the hypothalamus.
It receive inputs from the two sets of receptors:
1. One is itself in the hypothalamus which monitor the temperature of the blood
2. The other are receptors of the skin which monitor the external body temperature.
Both sets of information are needed so that the body can make appropriate adjustments. The thermoregulatory centre sends impulses to several different effectors to adjust body temperature.
Best!
