Why does micelle formation not take place in non-polar solvents like ethanol?

Solution:
Micelle formation does not occur in alcohol because the alkyl chain of soap becomes soluble in alcohol. 
Soaps are salts of sodium stearate. The alkyl group is soluble in ethanol.
