Why does the level of water not change when salt is dissolved in water?

this happens because water molecules are not tightly packed and have space between them hence when we dissolve the salt in it the salt particles occupy the space between the molecules of the water. thus the water level doesn't rise up

because the salt enters the spaces between the water molecules

because since water is a liquid the particles are very loosely packed and have spaces between them. .So salt occupies the spaces between the water.thus, the level of water donot change.

hope this helps!!!!!!!!
