Why does the names of different states keep on changing like pataliputra to patna etc. ? Will the names will also change in future ?

The names of different states keeps on changing either for promoting language or culture or history etc. There are many Indian states which have changed its name which have references of history, language culture etc.

There are chances that in future too names of states might change which is difficult to predict now.
