Earthworm is called farmers friend just because it make the soil more fertile,increases humus,which results in good production of crops etc which is so helpful for farmer .

Earthworms help in soil erosion,they makes way to air to enter the plant and make the soil more fertile by converting the biodegradable waste into humus or manure that will help in good production and growth of the plant,that's why earthworms are called the farmers friend.
