Why earthworms have no teeth

Dear student,

Earthworms do not have teeth instead they do have strong muscular mouth to ingest or take the food (i.e, dirt and pieces of  leaves) in. Since they do not have teeth to chew, the food is digested and absorbed into blood for circulation.

Regards.

The earthworms don't have teeth as they swallow soil and that is considered as their food so they don't need teeth.

They don't have teeth but they have strong mouth muscles. Dew worms or nightcrawlers often surface at night to pull fallen leaves down into their burrow. When the leaf softens a little they pull off small bits to munch on. Worms also "swallow" soil as they burrow.
