why electric field vector is called Light vector ?

Dear Student
                            Electromagnetic waves are transverse in nature. It consists electric and magnetic field which oscillate perpendicular to the direction of propagation of electromagnetic wave.But it is only electric field which is polarized and responsible for polarization. And it is considered as a Light vector.
