why in an electrolyte current flows due to the movement of both cations and anions

Dear Student
Kindly find the answer of your asked query.

We know the flow of positive as well negative charged particles constitute electricity.

In electrolyte there are negative as well as positive charged ions, they move towards the oppositely charged electrodes and hence constitute electricity i.e. produce current in the same direction. Therefore cations as well as anions both generate electricity.

Hope this information will clear your doubt about electricity.
