Why in bionomial nomenclature the words are written in latin or latinised?

Dear Student,

Most Plants and Animals might have different names in different areas.
Therefore it is necessary to assign them one scientific name so that they can be recognised everywhere.

Carl Linnaeus gave the method of Binomial Nomenclature. In this method, he used two names to denote a single species , in which the first name denoted the genus and the second denoted the characteristic of the species. In his time Latin language was Dominant. It was taught everywhere and hence was therefore used to denote the Species name as well.

Regards.
