why is electric current flowing only on external surface of the conductor?

Dear Student

It is not always true that electricity passes through the surface of conductor.
If it is DC, it passes through the whole of the conductor, but AC passes through the surface & this process is called skin effect. As it is alternating, the change in direction produces a back emf which is strongest at the center & this pushes out the electricity to the surface.

The electric current flowing only on external surface of the conductor because:
  • The electrons on the atom of the conductor are in the external surface of the atom.
  • The electric current passes from the positive charge to the negative charge of a battery.
  • Therefore, the positive charge is fuse with the electrons on the atom of a conductor.

so what if it is flowing
