why is Europe called peninsula of peninsulas

Europe is referred as Peninsula of Peninsulas as major part of Europe is made of Peninsulas . Formed out of Eurasian landmass, Europe look like a huge Peninsula. Further, three sides of Europe is surrounded with water, with one being connected with Asia.
