why is gulliver so eager to assert hisown country's importance to brobdingnagians

Brobdingnagians were giant beings. Gulliver was a tiny being in front of them. So when the Brobdingnagian king asked Gulliver about English politics, he took this as an opportunity and asserted his own country’s importance. He explained him all that he could about his country.
