Why is hf covalent

Dear Student,

HF molecule  is a polar molecule and  H-F bond is a polar covalent bond  because of the  unequal sharing of electrons between more electronegative i.e F atom and less electronegative i.e H atom.​ So fluorine pulls electrons away from hydrogen. This gives the fluorine a partial negative charge and hydrogen a partial positive charge.​The partial positive charge represented by ‘δ+' and the partial negative charge is represented by ‘δ− ′ ,figure shown below:-


Thats why , HF is  is polar covalent bond.
