why is it harder to lift a glued object on surface with respect to the situation when it is not glued

Due to the action of the glue, the molecules of the glue binds the surfaces. Thus to in order to lift the glued object we will have to apply force against the attractive force acting between the surfaces due to the glue. This makes it difficult to lift the glued object.

When an object is glued to the surface, the pressure exerted on the glued object is more with respect to the situation when it is not glued. To lift the glued object, we have to apply a force greater enough to overcome the extra presure on the glued object.

Therefore, it is more harder to lift a glued object on surface with respect to the situation when it is not glued.

Hope it helps.

Cheers!!!
