Why is it important to study economics?

Dear Student,
Economics is the study of how societies,government,businesses and individuals allocate their scarce resources.It deals with the production,distribution and consumption of goods and services and focuses on the working of the economy at individual and national level. Study of economics helps a person in understanding human behaviour. it teaches us to make choices from the scarce resources with various alternative uses. Economics helps in understanding the market behaviour and helps to take better decisions regarding optimum utilisation of the available resources which leads to economic security and well being of the people.

Because it make us skilled for the social works and give us social knowledge. Moreover, it has great importance in itself because a person reading it has knowledge of every social work. It is the vast subject.

Economics is the subject matter that relates to the use of scarce resources in a manner such that the individuals maximize their economic gain and the micro level and the society maximizes its welfare at the Macro level.

Dear Student, As Mahatma Gandhiji said, "There is enough for everybody's needs but not for anybody's greed". Resources are always scared (limited) to our unlimited wants. Also, resources have alternative use. This creates the problem of choice. To solve this problem of choice we study economics.
