Why is it written except in main veins? What happens in main veins?

Dear student

This statement explains that when vertical sections of monocot leaf is performed then parallel venation can be seen in the form of vascular bundles of similar sizes but the size is not similar for the main veins in the vertical section.

Vascular bundles are similar in size in monocot leaf because they have parallel veins and a number of vascular bundles can be seen in a row, except the main vein.
