It is written that the operation was successful because the operation was actually successful. It was performed to remove the tiny silver that had pierced in Maharaja's right hand and it was done satisfyingly.

The operation was performed to remove the tiny sliver that had pierced in Maharaja's right hand. Though the sliver was removed successfully (operation successful), Maharaja died because of infection that had spread in his body.
