Why is lake Mansarovar Tibet's most venerated stretch of water?

Lake Manasarovar is considered to be the source of great Indian rivers. These are the Indus, the Ganges, the Sutlej and the Brahmaputra. Being considered the source of great rivers, the Lake Manasarovar is Tibet's most venerated stretch of water.
