why is nylon considered to be a good material for making fishing nets

Nylon is a strong and lightweight material.  
It is able to withstand watery conditions i.e. its strength does not get depleted even if submerged in water.
Also it does not retain water.
It is also able to regain its shape easily.
Hence it is used for making fishing nets.
