why is penensular plateau sparely populated

Peninsular Plateau:
a. It is one of the oldest landmasses.
b. Mainly comprising of old crystalline, igneous and metamorphic rocks.
a. Southern plateau was formed due to shifting and drifting of Gondwana landmass.
b. It was the result of series of volcanic eruptions that took place 60 million years ago.
e. Its main divisions are Central Highlands and the Deccan Plateau.
f. The region is sparsely populated because of its relief features.
g. The region comprises of many hill tracts and smaller plateaus and not levelled land.
