Why is steel often called the backbone of a modern industry

Steelis often called as the backbone of modern industry because almost everything we use is made of steel or iron.

For example :-

  • 1)Ships, trains, trucks and even pins and needles.
  • 2)Oil wells are drilled with steel machinery and steel pipelines transport the oil over long distances.
  • 3)Minerals are mined with steel equiment.
  • 4)Farm machineries are mostly steel.
  • 5)Large buildings have steel frame work.

It is so because almost every thing and process requires steel. The idustry is known for machine work. Machine also comprises of steel. transportation vehicles also comprises of steel

1.nowadays each and every structure contains steel because it strengthens its foundation. Every thing from a filer to a factory contains steel.
2.In industries the raw materials are processed using machines which are made of steel.
3.Another main point is that transportation is an important part of industries and ships, trains, trucks, etc are made of steel.
Due to these factors the steel industry forms the backbone of all industries.
