why is the father unhappy and what is his problem

The Father is unhappy because even though he and his son had lived under the same roof for many years, he is unable to understand his son. There is silence surrounding them, means there is no communication between them. Father wants to reestablish the relationship with his son but he is sad that his grief give away to anger. He do not want his to stay away from him making his own arrangement for living.
