Why is the new economic policy called "economic reforms"?

Dear student
new economic policy called economic reforms because to overcome the economic crisis of 90's, the government of India launches a a policy which is known as new economic policy. and this policy helps the country to overcome from the economic crisis. As this policy helps the economy to increase the GDP, international trade, employment etc.This policy makes a lot of change in the development of the economy or we can say there was a lot of reform in the economy due to this policy. Therefore, New economic policy called 'Economic reforms'
